First medals

World Championship Alpago Piancavallo, the first significant medals, Damiano Lenzi and Laetitia Roux are the new world champions for Individual Race.

Damiano Lenzi & Laetitia Roux won the Individual race and graduate world champions. In the category Espoir double 'Inno di Mameli' with the wins of Federico Nicolini and Alba De Silvestro.
Fog and rain hadn't ruined the world championship debut, but have

forced the Transcavallo Committee to work overtime. The men of Diego Svalduz have been able to offer a technical and very spectacular race, with start-finish places at the entrance of Val Salatis. To decree the best athletes of the next two-year period, four climbs and four descents with a total vertical drop of 1,670 m for men and 1,500 for women's categories.
The mountains between Veneto and Friuli have literally exalted the Piedmontese Damiano Lenzi, who, already on the first climb, has tried to distance the leading group. The only one able to hold this forcing and to attack during the ascent was the Catalan Kilian Jornet Burgada. Between the two runners a clenched head to head, that was only resolved in the final downhill when Lenzi drew the best lines, crossing the finish line with raised arms in 1h52'10". Silver medal for Jornet in 1h52'11" and bronze for an excellent Anton Palzer in 1h52'44". Then we find Matthew Eydallin, Robert Antonioli, Xavier Gachet, William Bon Mardion, Werner Marti, Valentin Favre and Jakob Hermann. Gold Espoir for the 'azzurro' Nicolini, ahead of Spain's Oriol Cardona and Swiss Remi Bonnet.
Female race all as expected with Laetitia Roux who once again imposed the law of the strongest, winning the race and the World title in 2h03'06". Second place and world silver medal for the Swiss Mathys Maude in 2h04'53". Bronze for the other transalpine Axelle Mollaret, who finished in 2h06'42" her performance. In the first ten placed also Emelie Forsberg, Jennifer Fiechter, Mireia Miró, Galicia Cortina, Alba De Silvestro, Martina Valmassoi and Severine Pont Combe. De Silvestro, in addition to the placing in the top ten, was also absolute first place Espoir before of the other 'azzurra' Giulia Compagnoni and of the Austrian Johanna Erhart.
Filed the first stage, the program of the World Championship races provides for tomorrow morning the Individual race of young people (Cadets and Juniors). Sunday, however, it will enter the highlight with the Team race.  After the rest day, the organizers will move to Piancavallo for the Sprint Race, on Tuesday.
